What it looks like
Inside dense colas, the core goes gray/brown and mushy; from outside you'll spot a single wilted sugar leaf, discolored spots, or a cottony gray fuzz. Pull a suspect bud open — rot hides in the middle.
Symptoms
- Gray/brown fuzzy mold inside buds
- A random leaf on a cola wilting/yellowing (early tell)
- Soft, discolored, mushy bud cores
- Spreads quickly in dense, humid canopies
Causes
- High humidity in flower (especially nights)
- Dense buds holding moisture
- Poor airflow; condensation
- Rain/dew on outdoor plants
How to fix it
- 1Remove infected buds immediately with clean cuts — cut well past the rot, bag and discard (don't compost near plants)
- 2Drop humidity hard and boost airflow
- 3Harvest early if rot is spreading faster than you can manage
Prevention
- Keep flower humidity in range (drier as buds fatten)
- Defoliate and space for airflow through dense colas
- Dehumidify at night when RH spikes
悟る · how satoru tells it apart
Bud rot starts hidden and a day's delay can cost a harvest. Satoru watches your flowering humidity and flags the risk window before the gray shows — earlier than a visual check alone.
