Terms of Service

1. Eligibility & age

By creating an account you represent and warrant that you are at least 21 years of age (this minimum applies to all users regardless of any lower local age) and that you reside in, and will use Satoru only within, a jurisdiction where recreational (adult-use) cannabis is legal. You are solely responsible for knowing and complying with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, including plant-count limits, licensing, and registration requirements. Access is currently limited to the U.S. states & D.C. with legal adult-use cannabis; Canada, Uruguay, Malta, Luxembourg, Germany, and South Africa; and the Australian Capital Territory.

2. Legal status acknowledgment

Cannabis remains illegal under U.S. federal law and is regulated differently in every state and country. Satoru does not authorize, encourage, or facilitate any activity that is unlawful where you are. If home cultivation is not legal where you live, you may not use this service.

3. Informational only — not professional advice

Satoru provides cultivation insights, predictions, and guidance for informational purposes only. It is not legal, medical, horticultural, or professional advice, and no outcome (yield, quality, plant health, or otherwise) is guaranteed. Cultivation involves inherent risk; you assume full responsibility for decisions made using the service.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Satoru for any unlawful purpose, to misrepresent your eligibility, to attempt to circumvent access controls, or to use the service on behalf of anyone who does not meet these Terms. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. We apply a location check at signup and may further verify the jurisdiction from which the service is accessed; circumventing it (e.g. via VPN) to access from a prohibited jurisdiction is a breach of these Terms.

5. Your account & data

You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account. Your grow data is yours; aggregated, anonymized insights may be used to improve the service. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle data.

6. Disclaimer of warranties & limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Satoru and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of crops, profits, or data, arising from your use of the service. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Satoru and its operators from claims arising out of your use of the service or your violation of these Terms or any law.

7. Intellectual property & trade secrets

Satoru, the Satoru Intelligence Network, and all software, models, content, designs, logos, and branding made available through the service are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for your own cultivation; you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or create derivative works from any part of it without our prior written permission.

The service's predictive models, learning algorithms, cultivation blueprints, ranking and recommendation logic, benchmarks, and the aggregated strain-by-outcome dataset are our confidential information and trade secrets, derive independent economic value from not being generally known, and are maintained in secrecy. By using the service you agree not to access, use, or disclose any such trade secret except as expressly permitted, not to use the service to build a competing product, and not to attempt to derive, extract, or reconstruct the underlying methods, weights, or data. These obligations survive termination of your account.

8. Governing law & dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before bringing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at phil@growsatoru.com and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Any dispute not resolved that way shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or equitable relief to protect intellectual-property or trade-secret rights.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected in the version and effective date above.
